A short list of things that are worth the struggle…

  • Showing up on time, focused and ready.
  • Learning how to stay calm when everyone else is panicking.  The next best option?  Appearing to stay calm when everyone else is panicking.
  • Taking time to breathe and recharge.  If you’re not at your best, you’re not helping as much as you could be.
  • Building communication skills.  Being able to understand and be understood is more than half the battle.
  • Learning how to diplomatically tell someone something they don’t want to hear, in such a way that they not only understand the facts but sort of agree.
  • Empathy.
  • Embracing positive change, as scary as it may be.
  • Realizing that no matter your business, you have customers.  And you need them more than they need you.
  • Investing in yourself.  There’s always another level.  Go find it.
